Agriculture and Environmental Gaza Society (AEGS) is a non-profit Palestinian organization whose main function is to empower Palestinian agriculture community respond to the needs of the poor and marginalized farmers in Gaza strip . AEGS  implements a project in partnership with (designated institution progrmme of assistance to the Palestinian people) funded by United Nation Development Programme  and implemented by Agriculture and Environmental Gaza Society (AEGS). The deprived families economic empowerment (DEEP 1) project aims to   supplying renewable energy to  poor war affected layer chicken farmers in Gaza strip. The duration of this project is 5 months (June - October, 2015).
AEGS is interested in recruiting a qualified candidate to occupy the “Project Accountant” position (full time). AEGS invites qualified candidates to apply for the position.
 
Description of Responsibilities:
 
1-Manage  accounts and monthly financial transactions of the program. 
20Prepare  detailed cost estimates, in budget analysis and project as required;
3-ensure an efficient cash flow process to the program.
4-control the financial management system and ensure maintenance of financial controls.
5-Maintain Program’s financial records and other related supporting documents.
6-ensuring timely and accurate reporting to the program management;
7-liaise with UNDP/PAPP Office on the financial matters 
8-review contracts with supplying companies from point of view of AEGS compliance and financial compliance and recommend to Management action to be taken. 
9-Assist the Admin .Officer in recommending strategies for the improvement of financial, management accounting and information systems of the project.
10-Perform other official duties as assigned by the Project manager. 
 
Qualifications
 
Education:
Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance or other related fields from a recognized university.
Experience:
Minimum 2-4 years of working experience in accounting/finance; preferably in international donor/NGO programmes and projects.
Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of other relevant software is an advantage
Ability to work in a team, creative and problem-solving disposition, willingness to take initiative, good inter-personal skills.
Accuracy at work, attention to details and sensitivity to priorities
Ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
Ability to carry out tasks independently.
Language Requirements:
Fluent English and Arabic.
