Economic recovery in Gaza Strip (Phase II) project

Appointment of Legal Advisor to Support the Commercialization of ICT Startup Businesses

Palestine Information and Communications Technology Incubator (PICTI), is an independent Palestinian organization based in Ramallah with a branch in Gaza. PICTI has been created through the initiative and support of the Palestinian Information Technology Community. PICTI’s mission is to support the Palestinian entrepreneurs in developing their innovative business ideas and establishing their own successful startup companies toward revitalization and sustainable growth of the ICT sector in Palestine. 

Project Background

PICTI in partnership with Oxfam is implementing the "Economic Recovery in Gaza Strip project: Promoting Choice, Resilience and Dignity - Phase II". This project specifically aims to increase participation in user-driven market systems for female and male small and medium-scale producers, processors and ICT entrepreneurs in the Gaza Strip. 
One of the project components is to support the commercialization (post-incubation) of 10 start-up ICT businesses (5 in 2015-2016 and in 2016-2017). The commercialization program will be providing direct business development support and services for commercializing these start-up businesses to expand their market outreach and build their capacity thus enabling them of penetrating targeted markets either individually or in partnership with an existing corporate business. The targeted start-up businesses will be selected from a pool of start-up businesses which have graduated from the incubators of PICTI and UCAS within the “Economic Recovery in the Gaza Strip – Phase I and II” projects.
