UNRWA Databases Management (DBM)

Project Associates position

This advertisement seeks applications from recent IT graduates of Bachelor programs. Project Associates will be employed to support UNRWA Database Management (DBM) for UNRWA.  Project work is likely to involve database design, datasets integration, data entry, data conversion, data cleansing, ASP.net programming, and analysis.  It also involves detailed documentation and reporting to the client
Promising applicants will take a test to measure their skills level on the required skills.
Short-listed candidates will be called for interview.  Approximately 20 candidates will be hired to attend several weeks of fulltime, paid training. The final team of 10 candidates will be selected at the end of training. Project Associates will receive ongoing workplace training, to complement their work.

Team members will work full time for up to one year as DBM Project Associates. DBM Project work is expected to continue beyond that time, in the form of a sub-contracted project under the management of a Gazan company. Therefore, during their work, candidates should expect to move from UNRWA to a private sector employer. 
Please note: these are not UNRWA staff positions, with no UNRWA staff benefits. This project is part of the pilot phase of a planned social enterprise, not an UNRWA program.

Successful Candidates will be:
1-Required Qualifications

The following are required, and no application will be considered without these qualifications.  The application and testing process will confirm each of these requirements:

1.1-University degree (4 or 5 year degree) in one of the following ICT specializations: Computer science, Computer engineers, Management information system or Information System, Software development.
1.2-Applicants must have graduated in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, or 2014.
1.3-Knowledge of Web programming in ASP.Net
1.4-Experienced in Using MS office, especially Access and Excel.
1.5-Good spoken and written English.
1.6-English and Arabic typing, accurate at a speed of 30 words per minute.
1.7-Have proven experience skills in database design. 
1.8-Experience in programming relational database management systems using SQL, DDL and DML.
1.9-Applicants must not be currently employed in fulltime, paid work.  Applicants may be self-employed as freelancers, and they may be working unpaid, or in short-term roles of three months or less.
