TERMS OF REFERENCE

Financial Microsoft Excel Training

 

About the Organization:

 
Handicap International (HI) is an independent international solidarity organization, which works in situations of poverty or exclusion, conflict and natural disasters. Working alongside people with disabilities and people in vulnerable situations, the organization takes action and speaks out in order to meet their essential needs and improve their living conditions. Handicap International is committed to campaigning to ensure their dignity is preserved and their fundamental rights upheld. HI is active in occupied Palestinian territories since 1996, supporting services provision to persons with disabilities and looking at strengthening access to information for users. Also Handicap International works with service providers, persons with disabilities, their representatives and local authorities to developed sustainable mechanisms and capacities to enhance access to services for persons with disabilities and development of capacities of DPOs (Disabled Persons Organizations) at local, national and regional level so they become acknowledged counterpart of authorities and service providers and influence policy making processes. HI supports local stakeholders, DPOs, service providers and authorities in their own initiatives to remove barriers and deliver services, enhancing inclusiveness of community development processes while optimizing community resources.

 
Brief description about Disability in Palestine:

 
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics there are around 4,048,403 million Palestinian living in the opt (2,513,283 million in West Bank and 1,535,120 million in Gaza strip). According to general estimations by WHO, between 10-15% of a given population would have some kind of disability; in the Palestinian Territories, this implies that the figure would be around 284,000 – 404,000 people. According to the last records, the prevalence of disability in the oPt was about 7% (extended definition) with similar prevalence in each of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. While the prevalence of disability using the narrow definition was 2.7% distributed as 2.9% in the West Bank and 2.4% in Gaza Strip; while it was 2.9% for Males and 2.5% for females.  Taken together, this implies that the total number of PWDs in oPts is around 113,000-287,000.

1-CONTEXT
Handicap is developing a capacity-building plan for the employees in PALE mission, which aim to develop their capacity to facilitate accomplishing their duties easily and smoothly. Microsoft Excel software is a major application in their daily follow-up for their project planning, budgets, financial reporting and accountancy. Throughout the HR department, Handicap International is aiming to increase West bank staff skills in dealing with Microsoft excel financial and budgeting skills developing by implementing a training course for 16 employees on Financial Excel Platform.
2.       DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIRED SERVICE PROVISION
Within the framework of the HR department, an extensive financial Excel training will be conducted for 16 employees in the west bank.  The training course will focus on: Learn Excel features including worksheets, workbooks, cells and formulas. Students will enter, delete, move, copy and paste constant values and formulas; navigate through workbooks, resize columns and rows, use auto fill, format and print worksheets. ·         The pertinent Excel tools that are required in business environment to efficiently analyse and manipulate data and to create compelling financial analyses ·         Simplify complex spreadsheets, rename and color-coded tabs, use data validation, functions and charts. Retrieve and reference information, ensure real-time calculations. Link formulas across worksheets. 

Specific objectives of the Training

 Objective:
General introduction -General introduction about Excel ·Data Analyses: -Data Cleaning and navigation. -Use numerous built-in Excel functions to interpret and manipulate data. -Use Excel’s filters in conjunction with specific arithmetic functions to summarize large volumes of data and advance filtering. -Incorporate widely used financial and arithmetic functions. - Works with large work sheet using freezing options, splitting windows, inserting page breaks for printing large sheets. -Data Validation.-Data Sorting and sorting tables. -Data Filtering.Lookup Functions -Use a variety of intermediate and advanced Lookup functions to efficiently extract specific information. - Learn multiple uses of the Vlookup and Offset functions, including ways to automate these functions.Pivot Tables -Use Pivot Tables, to quickly analyse large quantities of data. Subtotals -Use subtotals for reporting purpose. ·         Multipurpose Function: II Sumif, Sumifs Countif, Countifs , Vlookup. ·         Conditional formatting concept.Protecting -Workbook protecting window or content workbook. -Worksheet and cell level of protection. -Applying password on workbook, worksheet and cell level.

 
3-TRAINER PROFILE
Higher education in field of Microsoft Excels.Knowledge and experience in financial use of Microsoft Excel, budgeting, planning monitoring.Knowledge and experience in developing training materials. Facilitating organizational training needs analysis. ·         Excellent in Leading teams, and coaching and mentoring individuals. ·         Good social and communication skills. ·         Excellent English language skills (reading, writing and speaking). Arabic as a second language will be more preferable.

Start date: 3 July 2015    Mission end date: Service location: West Bank.
5-REPORT
Number of Reports:Final Report assessing the trainees.

Printed training materials ·Soft copy of the training materials ·         Certificate of attending for the trainees 
7-RESOURCE PERSON
Within the framework of the training course, the trainer will be in collaboration with Handicap International Deputy & Finance Manager who will be the focal contact person for this service support & follow up.

8-Estimated cost to Handicap International

The interested training centre or consultant shall provide Handicap International with an offer including full proper price quote and financial expectations according to the services proposed.

The time frame shall be fitting with the one defined by Handicap International in the time frame & work plan section and take into consideration the following points:
-Prices shall be in English and with USD currency.
-Prices shall be inclusive of VAT.
-Preferred payment terms / method shall be mentioned.
