Rural Women’s Development Society (RWDS)

CONTEXT OF THE POSITION:

Rural Women’s Development Society (RWDS) is a Palestinian non-governmental organization working in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. Founded in 1987 . registered with the PA.

RWDS’s mission aims at advancing the rights of rural women by creating empowering and supporting environment for them in their local communities through women’s clubs. RWDS supported the establishment of more than 60 women’s clubs throughout the West Bank and Gaza, reaching out to more than 3000 community members. 

OBJECTIVE OF THE MANDATE:

RWDS is currently looking for a Community Value Chain Coordinator to coordinate the implementation of the project “Equitable Agricultural Production and Market Systems for Resilient Economic Development”, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) in partnership with Oxfam, PARC, ESDC, PLDC, and Maan Development Center. This 4 year project aims to contribute to resilient and equitable agricultural growth benefiting small-scale women and men producers in the oPt.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Follow-up to the announcement of the project in the target areas in the specified time period. 
-Collecting applications of target groups in targeted areas.
-Conduct daily follow up visit to monitor the selected project beneficiaries and progress of their Income Generating Activities. Preparation for meetings with target groups.
-Monitoring the training on daily basis and following the target groups’ attendance.
-Follow-up trainer’s commitment for the training according to the plans.
-Problems documentation through daily field visits to identify constrains that may face the beneficiaries. 
-Provide target groups with technical support  to solve any problems or obstacles that may be facing the beneficiaries
-Follow-up how the beneficiaries will use the payments for income-generating activities and evaluate the beneficiary’s commitment to the project.
-Assist target groups in selecting the best project ideas and provide guidance to facilitate the marketing process. 
-Coordination and networking with local authorities when needed
-Prepare reports as needed and submit to RWDS project management team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education
-Bachelor degree in (Agronomy,  Marketing, Agricultural Economics, or any similar field).

Experience
-At least 3 years’ experience in the fields of agricultural development and value chains, economic empowerment, community development, or other relevant topics
-Good English and Arabic; written, Spoken and communication skills
-Good understanding and experience in supervision and monitoring of the project implementation and impact measurement
-Ability to write and prepare interim and final project reports
-Computer skills: sound knowledge of standard software (mainly MS Office(
-Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills; highly organized/strong coordination skills; able to set priorities, work systematically towards goals, both independently and as part of a team;
