  Background:The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system to enable the safest and most efficient conduct of the programmes and activities of the United Nations

Description of Responsibilities:-Working with the Gaza Security Coordination Office (GSCO) team to provide Safety and Security assistance to all UN personnel located in Gaza.-Conducting mission tracking, managing security clearances through TRIP System in consultation with ASC/FSCO monitoring news media for security-related information.-Provide training on using VHF Radios and using body armor.-Update the list of International presence in Gaza and have them accounted for on daily basis. Disseminating safety and security-related advisories.-Maintaining Security Incidents database and providing accurate figures, statistics and reports upon request.-Maintaining the functionality of the Radio Room, proper handling of equipment and to remain on standby in crisis situations.-Man radios and conduct periodic radio checks with all international staff and Wardens..Perform any other tasks and duties as directed by the supervisor.

1. Function / Expected Resultsm Staff member would be assisting the GSCO to ensure that the facility is manned 24/7.2-Function / Expected ResultsTo ensure the safety and security of UN personnel in the area of operation through continuous contact & support to the CSA/DSA & FSCO in confirmation of security-related incidents.3-Function / Expected ResultsEnsuring that all UN personnel are updated with security-related information and other advisories.4-Function / Expected ResultsEnsuring that all FSCOs, DSA , CSA and other AFP’s requirements for information is available on accurate level, through ensuring the accuracy of the daily incidents. 5-Function / Expected Results

To ensure that the Radio Room is functional on 24/7 basis with the equipment functional at all times.

 Impact of Results

Based on the key functions and results expected, the impact is expected to have better performance, better clients assistance in providing safety and security related needs, more management of time being a crucial factor in Safety and Security, maintaining databases of the UNDSS System in I/WB/G, enhancing the capabilities and performance of the GSCO being a part of an operational team.

Qualifications :Education: 
High school diplomas, BA degree in Administration, Operations, or Security are considered to be an  asset.
Experience: 
Minimum of 3 years of related field.
Language Requirements & other skills: 
English and Arabic (fluent), Hebrew would be considered an added asset.
A valid driving license
