II-Country Profile
 
ACTED started its activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory in May 2007, with a food security programme in the West Bank.
 
ACTED Occupied Palestinian Territory plans to expand its mission through agriculture, water supply, and economic development projects.
 
Fostering sustainable development of Palestinian civil society while addressing the humanitarian needs of vulnerable rural communities - ACTED’s goal for 2011 has been to capitalise on its previous engagement in agricultural development in the West Bank by supporting the development of the cooperative sector. In parallel, and based on the developments in the region, we have maintained our focus on addressing the remaining humanitarian needs and assisting the most vulnerable populations in the West Bank. In coordination with the Palestinian Authority Strategic Plan of the Cooperative sector 2011-2013, ACTED has sought to strengthen rural cooperatives in the governorates of Salfit and Qalqilya. In addition, ACTED enhanced its emergency livelihoods intervention programme, providing much needed assistance to the most vulnerable rural Palestinian populations in the West Bank.
 
III-Position Profile
-Transport ACTED staff to field locations throughout the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
-Collect and deliver small items related to programme procurement and delivery.
-Transport ACTED staff between Jerusalem Office and Ramallah Office.
-Ensure that ACTED vehicles are properly maintained.
-Maintain ACTED vehicle log books.
-Run errands for the Programme and Logistics departments.
-Verify that all tools and items (spare tyres, water, oil, first aid kit, etc.) are always kept in ACTED vehicles.
-Communicate any security issues to Logistics and Security Officer.
-Carry out administrative or basic maintenance tasks in the offices when required.
-Available to work overtime or at weekends when requested.
-Observe safe driving practises.
 
IV-Qualifications:
-Minimum 3 years driving experience with good references.
-Arabic mother tongue and good level of spoken English; knowledge of Hebrew is preferred.
-Available to undertake frequent travel to field locations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
-Experience with International NGOs is preferred.
-Knowledge of mechanics is an advantage.
-Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines under pressure, and to complete work with high quality and attention to detail.
-Flexibility and capacity to work under pressure.
-Commitment towards principles and ethics of humanitarian aid, including compliance with ACTED standards and principles.
-Experience in adhering to security protocols and procedures.

-Ability to drive in Jerusalem (Jerusalem ID holder)
-Over 24 years old
-Residence in Jerusalem.
-Valid driving license with a good driving record
