The project (Interactive classrooms, interactive learning) is a one year project starting from Jan – Dec 2018. The project focus is to: 1) improve positive learning environment by rehabilitating 40 classrooms across 20 schools to promote creative, interactive and positive learning environments for children in the West Bank. 2) Developing teacher’s capacity by training 20 teachers in child-friendly, participatory, play-based learning, gender equality and positive learning environments to support children leaning. 3) Establishing minimum standards for interactive classrooms by conducting series of workshops and consultations with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and relevant stakeholders (teachers, children, principals and parents) to develop and refine minimum standards for interactive classrooms:
Interior exterior design engineer (Interactive Classrooms Rehabilitation)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct field visits for schools locations, assess and identify needs and decide on works needed for 40 classrooms in the west bank.
Provide recommendations for each location after the field visits in cooperation of Ministry of education and higher education and Right to play staff according to the budget and needs.
Prepare BOQ and price quotations from at least three contractors for each type of work or provisions, including technical and financial evaluation in coordination with Right To Play.
Prepare designs and plans for each location in cooperation with the MoEHE engineer.
Submit a work plan at the beginning of the process.
Supervise and follow up with the contractors and suppliers.
Conduct minimum 3 field visits per location (Project); at the beginning, during the process and at the end of the implementation, the number of visits is subject to increase according to the requirements of implementation to ensure the quality needed.
Provide periodic progress updates to Right To Play
Provide Right to play with pictures before, during and after the process for each location to document the progress of the work.
Control the quality of work and apply safety measures.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Registered in the engineers syndicate.
At least 3 years’ experience working on small/ medium scale civil engineering construction projects.
Past experience in rehabilitation activities is essential.
Fluency in written English and Arabic language skills are required.
Interpersonal and communication skills, technical reports writing skills, working knowledge of engineering and MS office applications.

Education Expert/Specialist (Interactive Classrooms)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Pave the way for better understanding of interactive classrooms and lead the process of developing minimum standards to create the interactive classrooms.
Conduct consultation meetings/workshops with all relevant stakeholders (teachers, supervisors, children, parents and MoEHE staff) to draft a minimum standard document highlighting the most relevant, smart, adequate and applicable approach to create an interactive setting that will provide a positive environment conducive to participatory, safe, gender-sensitive, child-friendly and play-based learning.
Conduct desk review concerning interactive classrooms, by collecting data, revisions, and different minimum standards from “similar in contexts” countries for comparison approach in Q1.
Identifying the needed type of classroom rehabilitation including furniture lightening, flooring, ventilation, painting and electrical works.
Provide proper documentation for a series of consultative meeting with MoEHE and a variety of stakeholder and experts in Q1, Q2 and Q4, to form a well-structured summarize report highlighting each meeting/workshop inputs and outputs.
Conduct field visits visit to the renovated classrooms to gather input from beneficiaries to support and enrich the document to be finalized during Q2 and Q3.

Minimum Qualification
Master’s Degree or equivalent in education or other related fields.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the education sector and in project administration
Knowledge of recent developments in the field of education.
Fluency in written English and Arabic language skills are required.
Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
Interact and communicate effectively with children and adults from different cultural and backgrounds;
